Troman Industries, Inc. Signs Agreement to License and Sell Collins Commercial Ground Vehicle Assets

Elkhart, IN – January 27, 2025 – Troman Industries, Inc. is pleased to announce the signing of a licensing agreement to acquire and sell specific assets in the Collins Commercial Ground Vehicle (CGV) segment of its Kidde Fire Protection Systems business, based in Wilson, NC. This strategic move allows Troman to further expand its market presence in the transit bus industry, leveraging Collins’ established reputation for superior fire protection solutions.

Under the terms of the agreement, Troman Industries will assume responsibility for Collins CGV’s order book, continuing to offer and support the brand within the transit bus market. Troman will also maintain an ongoing relationship with Collins, sourcing the necessary parts from the company to ensure continuity of service and product quality for its customers.

Troman Industries’ CEO, Tony Cunnane, expressed his confidence in the acquisition, stating, “We have long represented Collins’ Fire Protection Systems through our partnership with Metro Transit Services. We’ve always believed that their products are of the highest quality, and when the opportunity to enter into this agreement presented itself, we saw a great opportunity to step in and continue offering these reliable solutions to the market.”

The transition is expected to take place smoothly, with Troman Industries planning to take inventory from Collins’ Wilson, NC location and begin handling shipping operations by April 1, 2025. This will ensure that customers continue to receive timely and reliable service without interruption.

Troman Industries will be showcasing its expanded product offerings at the upcoming American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Mobility Conference, which will be held in Austin, TX, from April 6-9, 2025. The company invites attendees to visit their booth to learn more about the latest developments and innovations in fire protection for the commercial vehicle market.
